  2. Place the pair you want to test behind it.
  3. Look through the overlapping lens area.
  4. Rotate one pair approximately 90 degrees.

If both lenses are polarized, the overlapping area should become very dark. Each lens filters light in a different direction, so crossing the filters blocks much more light.
