About

Lab Instruments & Verification

We validate lens performance with industry-standard optical instruments—measuring UV/visible spectral transmittance and running controlled irradiance aging checks. Results are documented and traceable to test methods (e.g., ISO 12312-1 framework for sunglasses intended for general use, including road use and driving).

Solar Simulator Aging

A controlled solar-simulator chamber exposes lenses to accelerated “sunlight” to check stability over time—helping verify that UV filtering and optical performance remain consistent after prolonged irradiation. Standards commonly use solar-simulator exposure as an aging stress test for sunglasses.

UV–Vis Spectrophotometer Scan

A UV–Vis spectrophotometer scans the lens across wavelengths to quantify spectral transmittance—showing how much UV and visible light passes through. This measurement underpins UV protection verification and visible-light transmission (VLT) metrics used in sunglass evaluation.

Integrating Sphere Transmittance Setup

An integrating sphere collects transmitted light from the entire lens area, improving measurement reliability—especially for optical samples that scatter, refract, or redirect light. It’s widely used to measure transmittance with high consistency in optical testing.

The Science of "No Glare

Think of glare as horizontal light waves bouncing off the road or water. It creates visual noise.
Our polarized core acts like microscopic Venetian blinds, blocking only the horizontal interference while letting vertical "information" light pass through.

Lens Coatings Explained

The Fortress System

We always put safety first

Clean Less, See More

"Life is messy; your lenses shouldn't be.

  • Hydro-Oleophobic Coating: Water beads up and rolls off. Fingerprints wipe away in a single stroke.
  • Diamond-Hard Layer: Reinforced anti-scratch coating protects against keys, sand, and daily hazards."

Airbags for Your Eyes

Safety first. Unlike glass lenses that can shatter into dangerous shards, our composite lenses are engineered to withstand high-velocity impact. Whether it's a deployed airbag or a stray pebble, your retinas remain protected.

Bends, No Breaks

Accidents happen. Our Aerospace Beta-Titanium frame features 'Memory Metal' technology. Twist it, bend it, or sit on it—it springs back to its original shape instantly. Built to survive your lifestyle.

Scratch-resistant

Durability is a common issue with sunglasses and eyeglasses – scratches! We've significantly reduced scratches through our proprietary coating and processes, which helps extend the lifespan of our sunglasses.

The Multi-Layer Shield

Many tinted lenses mainly reduce brightness. BAPORSSA lenses are built as a multi-layer optical system—engineered to manage reflected glare, UV exposure, and everyday wear together. (See the Lab Card for measured data.)

Engineered, Not Just Tinted.

  1. Surface Defense — scratch-resistant hard coat + easy-clean top layer for daily wear.
  2. Optical Core — polarized glare control for roads, water, and glass reflections.
  3. UV Filtering — UV400 protection designed to help block UVA/UVB up to 400nm.
  4. Structural Stability — durable substrates (TAC / Nylon) and bonding layers to keep the stack stable over time.

UV400 Protection — Verified by Spectral Testing

UV radiation spans 100–400 nm, including UVA (315–400 nm) and UVB (280–315 nm). Our UV400 lenses are designed to help block UVA/UVB up to 400 nm, with protection verified through spectral transmittance testing and documented in lab records.
